For Australian-trained Barfighting Friend

Published by Booyor under Uncategorized

So I know I could send an e-mail…
But I think this stuff is funny. (This is also a pathetic ploy to get more people here. Perhaps if I put more keywords…) By the way: I guess this is a new Internet trend. (Perhaps if I mention 2 Chinese students singing Backstreet Boys, I will get more hits. )Yay
_____________

Mendicants = begging monks - makes sense - They get money from their own work.

That sword guy next to Mendicant is Groo the Wanderer from Dark Horse Comics.

Jedi Code can also be used with Delphi Programming.
Beware False Truths! It’s not the Jedi Code listed on the HWOW!
The Jedi Code

There is no emotion; there is peace.
There is no ignorance; there is knowledge.
There is no passion; there is serenity.
There is no death; there is the Force.

The Sith Code
Peace is a lie
There is only passion
Through passion I gain strength
Through strength I gain power
Through power I gain victory
Through victory my chains are broken
The Force shall set me free

Weird Al’s Bob may not necessarily be that he made a tribute to Bob Dylan. Track 10 of Poodle Hat is all about palindromes. (But he does sing the entire song in a Bob Dylan voice.)
I, man, am regal - a German am I
Some of the lyrics:

Never odd or even
If I had a hi-fi
Madam, I’m Adam
Too hot to hoot
No lemons, no melon
Too bad I hid a boot
Lisa Bonet ate no basil
Warsaw was raw
Was it a car or a cat I saw?

The planetary weight thing is cool.

I have no clue what that formula is for on the side of the HWOW. Please enlighten me.

Hunters of the past = archaeologists?

Barefoot in the Park? It’s going to be on Broadway in the spring.
It’s a Neil Simon play. (Like The Odd Couple, except for it’s newlyweds.)
Put on your dancing shoes? Broadway ABBA reference? (Mamma Mia!)
I guess people dance in the aisles at the performances.
Maybe it’s a reference to Wicked! or some of the other Broadway ringtones that are now available on Sprint PCS phones. (The website says, “Pull out your dancing shoes and…”) (Not “put on” but maybe…?)
Dancing shoes? Perhaps.

|_337 Speak? Oh my…
Leet google? (Headache…building…)
“+3h m0$+ c0mPr3h3nZiV3 1m463 s33rCh on +h33 w3b d00d!!”

I never knew there was a difference between Leetspeak and AOL Speak. “2 b” is gramattically incorrect in Standard Leet? Wow.
I guess there’s also Leet in other languages.

I also never knew that “r0×0rz my b0×0rz” was talking about CPU boxes and not underwear. Man, now I’m embarassed…

As promised, a Leet Dictionary.
Now the other teams will Ph34r j00r $|<1LL$ . (I felt 3 braincells terminate their own existence just now.

So, my barfighting friend, I have come to the conclusion that I am indeed a geek.

A Gamut of Emotion

Published by Booyor under Uncategorized

As you watch this, perhaps you will be like me…

Delighted, frightened, shocked, worried, disgusted, amused, and confused all at the same time.

If you haven’t watched LOST, you might just be confused.
(I’ll have you know that my wife tapes the episodes; she screens them to see if there’s any weird stuff in it for me. Mystic numbers? Unseen monsters? Janis Joplin wake-up music? I’ll watch it. Flashbacks about why people are in love…yeah, I’ll work on the computer.)

Legal Games

I don’t know if you’ve heard about the stuff that Jack Thompson has been rumored to do towards penny-arcade.com (not funny breaches of the first ammendment (for real)), but this is pretty funny.

Futile Ohms and Nonesuch

Published by Booyor under Uncategorized

For all those intrigued, catch The Hungry Little Caterpillar:A Metamorphosis at the Fall Family Festival Stage Friday, October 21. (My wife wears a beret in it.)

Soon you will see www.futileohm.com.
“Impressive. Most impressive.”
Darth Yo Mama

Not soon enough will you see Battlefront II. November 1st, November 1st…
I watched A New Hope on DVD on my computer with the headphones on. (My own big screen = sitting too close to the monitor.) Yeah, the cantina rocked. (Mutterings of aliens that I had not heard before.) I also heard the PA system in the Death Star calling for different troopers to report to different locales.

While I wait for Battlefront, I will entertain myself with HL Comics. Even though I haven’t played the sequel (curse you, Steam/Valve/Whatever-yo-name-is!) the comic still looks promising.

Don’t forget the Ongoing Story!
Who knows what the gnome will do now?

I think I care less about the team…

And I’m okay with it.

So, instead, I’m going to play:
Pac-Man
Frogger
Space Invaders
Tetris
Donkey Kong
Old schoolzorz

And check out a exhuvriating cover of “Baby Got Back” (yes, it’s still the same lyrics, so be cautious).

LBJ shakes Snake’s hand, I am a Shark, and whole lotta Goombas!

Published by Booyor under Uncategorized

Liz has been out of town for the past two nights (thus the timestamp for this post - tomorrow is the half-day before Fall Break (It’s bad when teachers count down.)) and I have gone video game loopy!

First order of business - I beat Metal Gear Solid 3 - Woo hoo (They now have a new version of the game, complete with the 3 hours worth of cinematics? Wow!). Every game in that series that I have played has rocked. (And yes…the game is called Snake Eater and, well, you eat snakes in the game.)
I never thought that wandering aimlessly in a Soviet jungle in the 1960s would be so entertaining. I’m very boggled by the storyline, but I don’t want to ruin any surprises. (I’ll give you this hint: 144.75 (the frequency that The Sorrow gives you) is to unlock a door, not for a strategic air strike as I had falsely assumed.)
Watch for how each villain has an animal associated to them. The Boss has the loyal horse, The End has the “Grandpa!” parrot. (It’s like Blade Runner symbolism.) So, for being such a realistic game, how come I defeated 453 soldiers versus 1 mullet?

So…anyone else hear of The Philosopher’s Legacy? The Wisemen’s Committee? The Nerd’s Coalition? (That last one is not really in the game, but it would be a great name for a band that only sang Ferengi covers. On the topic of geek choirs, check out this amazing group. You gotta watch the video. Redefined indeed.)
I don’t know why LAK is on EVA’s license plate, but I did learn that Triumph makes motorcycles and Calorie Mate is an actual company. Who knew? Good thing Snake likes eating them. Imagine getting sued because a video game character was a picky eater.

Last bit of video game ranting (besides, “Thanks, Sladezorz, for letting me borrow MGS3!”). Star Wars: Battlefront II. Yeah. Amazing. November 1st, why aren’t you here?

“Hey! Must be the Latinum!”
Is it weird that when I searched for Ferengi, a German and an Italian site were the first hits?
Perdente
Verlierer

Föderation der Vereinten Planeten
Calorie Mate Guy

Ocelot just keeps coming back, doesn’t he? Choosing which was the loaded revolver was pretty cool.
