I love Shining, because it's just so heart-warming until you remind yourself what the source material is.

The guy who did Shining was friends with two people who did other trailers: this one, for Titanic, and West Side Story, as a zombie film.

Oh...my...crazy! I had seen the 10 Things before and cracked up. Shining is just as good.
Ah, youtube. If only I could get you on a regular TV.

I only wish that I thought you were joking.

Now I'm certain that it's a good thing I didn't read the book, because I probably would have thrown it across the room at some point, tried to continue reading it later, and then thrown it across the room again. Repeat.

And then there's the part of the book where he reveals that Disney was also a Priory of Scion. That's why Snow White (Mary Magdalene in disguise) eats the apple. That's also why Sleeping Beauty is named Aurora (goddess of the stars) but is hidden as Rose (representing the Holy Grail and Magdalene's bloodline).
And Ariel (magical name) has red hair, just like Mary.
Yeah, he makes those claims.

But green eyes are magical!
Like the Irish.
Like the Irish.

Yeah, I agree with you about claiming ideas are ancient when they're new interpretations. Robert Langdon's a religious symbologist, but he does spout a lot of history. The parts that were dorky for me were when Sophie of the Green Eyes was trying to do some type of heroic thing and Langdon would stand in the background and say, "Y'know, in 1503, Mary Magdalene blah blah." If I were Sophie Neveu of the Green Eyes, I would have turned around and said, "Dude. My grandpa got murdered. Do you think we could actually try and solve the case?" They never really actively pursue the murderer, they get distracted by the Holy Grail (who doesn't, I mean?). The murderer seeks them out.
And then there's the climactic battle over Sir Isaac Newton's grave. I'll ruin the book. It's APPLE. The magic word that opens the cryptex is APPLE. Because that's what Eve ate, and that's what fell on Newton's head, and it all represents Mary Magdalene's goddess womb.
Go ahead. Continue thinking I'm joking.
Why travel Europe looking for answers. My friends and I could have solved the riddle in 5th grade. Then you would have had to only pay us in NES games. Ah, Mario...why does a leaf make you grow a raccoon tail? The mysteries of life...

I listened to part of the audiobook and it just drove me crazy. First, when the expert on religious history (or whatever) starts talking about the ancient idea of the divine feminine, but what he starts talking about are basically neo-pagan concepts, created in the past 50 or 100 years. I was also annoyed by how often he kept calling Sophie by her full name at first, and kept pointing out that she had green eyes. Okay, we get it!

I didn't listen to too much of it, because what I heard seemed so poorly written. Morgan listened to the rest of it and told me it would have just annoyed me more.

I should add that another reason I'm reading it so quickly is that I want to trade it in at Bookman's and get more for my trade while the movie is out in theaters.
