Bebe and Cece Winans and Take 6 were featured on American Idol tonight. These are two groups that I grew up with. You know Melinda grew up with these people, too.
And Blake beatboxing was cool for the first time this season…with Doug E. Fresh. Yep, when Pac-Man ruled the arcades. My students have no clue who these people are, but they’ll ask me about them tomorrow. (Earlier I got, “What’s the name of the song that goes ‘Doo doo doo Stayin’ Alive’”? )
Why did no one warn me that Sanjaya would be in front of a wind machine with Joe Perry from Aerosmith? And that the crying girl would show up again sitting next to the woman dressed like Big Bird? And they compared him to MLK and JFK?
