Betrayed by Playing Cards

This past July in Fort Myers, FL, prison officials handed out free playing cards to 93,000 inmates. On those cards were featured pictures and details about 104 of the top unsolved murders/missing persons cases.

Cons: Maybe makes light of people’s trouble/surrounds inmates even more in grisliness.

“You got a bullet to the head?”
“Go fish.”

Pros: Inmates like to brag about their junk. They brag so much, that Derrick Hamilton was booked for the 2004 murder of James Foote (found mysteriously shot in a parking lot). The details, including the crime scene photo, were printed on the card. Card game happened, Derrick bragged, and now he adds another felony. Police have received other tips like this, but this is the first to lead to an arrest.
