Noah Bennet killed Nathan Petrelli

Check out our updated postings here.

If you are part of the hundreds (thanks for the heads up, Site Meter) who just tuned in within the last few hours, make sure to check out the coping skills that we provide, as well as expert analysis by The Master Predictor and Devin, Benevolent Dictator.
If you really love us and want to support more Heroes/the culture of “my people” updates, buy Heroes:Saving Charlie (the continuation of Hiro and Charlie the Waitress’ love), the Peter Petrelli/Milo Ventimiglio Poster, or Hiro Nakamura/Takezo Kensei’s sword or pretty much anything Heroes related.

The Haiku
Whoa whoa whoa slow down
Okay. We don’t talk about
that EVER again.

Lots of great lines and situations. Thank you, Tim Kring, for giving us semi-closure. I love the whole “Volume Two/ Volume Three” thing.

Petrelli making a lightning sword, casting people aside like Legolas meeting Theoden, catching the vial, and turning into Darth Peter against the safe. Adam maniacally wanting another flood. “Flying man!” “Who’s this guy supposed to be?”

Buried alive in a graveyard like Megatron, boy!

And with Claire’s blood helping to stop 138, you save the cheerleader…yadda yadda.

After I made the Haiku, I thought Nikki (“dying” in a fire that DL could have saved her from). And when Nathan got up to make the world changing speech, I knew he was going Teddy Roosevelt. When the touching (not sarcastic) montage happened, his death was certain.

But what was with Mya’s “World Greatest Dad” apron?

I also love the graphic novel continuation.

[begin viral marketing campaign that is becoming less edgy]

And what show has its own surveillance camera? You can check out more information about Bennet on the PrimaTech site. Highlight the logo and you get the Kensei symbol/helix. You need to call 1-800-PRIMA16 to get things started. The username is ‘bennet’, the password is ‘claire’.

The username is always going to be bennet, but the passwords are:

  1. They couldn’t have known Nathan was going to be shot. I mean, they probably had good security, but it couldn’t be perfect. It’s not like they could read min- Oh. Two of them? Yikes.

Some general questions: where’s the Haitian? Have we seen him since Odessa? Who was Angela on the phone with? I assume it was Bob, but they’ve misled us before. Also, how does Peter think he’s getting cute Irish girl back from the future? A future that now doesn’t exist anymore, you might notice.

I’d like if Elle switches teams to be more of a hero, if only because I like Kristen Bell. I’d also like them to bring in Hanna- with Micah now parentless, perhaps he’ll look some more wireless guidance?

  2. Hoo, buddy! Those questions don’t help me be patient in the interim.
The Haitian just shows up as a deus ex to spice it up.

You have awed me by noticing the non-existing future. My character in Mutants and Masterminds is suffering from that right now (that happens when Mike unknowingly plays as my ancestor, screws up the timeline, and THEN figures out why our characters have a family resemblance).

I thought Angela was on the phone with Bennet, in all honesty.

And I forgot that Old Man Charles could predict like Isaac Mendez (with less drugs). Nice powers of observation.

Yeah. What happened to Wireless (the most deadly of nerd heroes)?

  4. The nymag has a funny obituary for Nathan and for Nikki. Here’s an excerpt:
“Her surviving family has requested that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made toward a Circuit City gift card for her son.”

  5. I’m also wondering bout the non-existant future and Peter’s love….. oh well, he can come save me then.

Why does Sylar never stop – I’d rather have Adam as still a threat because I thought he was cool and definitely less creepyfied… or maybe I’m just a sucker for his amazing accent.

I wonder if there will be a new “baddie” next season or if it will just be “oh noes Sylar again”. Hope there is someone new. And I hope that Peter keeps the short hair.

  6. Well, Volume 3 is called “Villains”. Here’s how I see the match-up:
    Sylar=Magneto
We already had a shape-changing woman and a Pyro
Adam=Awesome and hopefully will be dug up

We need some Toad-esque character nasty, as well as a Juggernaut/Sabretooth. We’ve had scary government agency. We’ve had a plague. Next comic classic? Alien/Atlantis invasion.

Wanted: Scary Mad Scientist with Robot Arms/Legs/Chickens

  7. Ha, I like how Nathan is described as an “ex-bearded ex-Congressman” in his obituary.

We all deal with hiatuses (hiatii?) differently. My method is to obsessively consider every hanging plot thread, and ponder every theory on how it might be dealt with.

I assumed Angela was talking to Bob since she knows him previously- I don’t recall if we know that she’s ever talked to Bennet. But presumably, this is part of Bennet’s deal to keep the company from doing anything to his family.

  8. New question, Master Predictor: Will there be love in Volume 3?
(Besides Peter rescuing the Girl Scout Essence of Humanity Itself.)

  9. One other thing that came to mind last night: If Peter Pan (I can’t remember Claire’s boyfriend’s real name) wants to avoid drawing attention to himself from people like the Company, maybe, just maybe, he should stop flying everywhere. He was born with feet for a reason. Just a theory.

Also: Hiro leaving Adam in the coffin? Nice. It was a cold-blooded move, no doubt, but Hiro’s not the type of guy that is going to be okay cutting someone down while they’re defenseless. He couldn’t do it to Sylar, and I doubt he could have done it to Adam. That scene in the vault was pretty sad, though.

  10. I read through the graphic novels- I don’t know why I put off reading them until after the season is over. But, I have to say: Tanuki!Hiro is just about the most adorable thing ever. Probably the second most adorable thing today, and that’s only because I talked to my nephew on the phone this afternoon. Someone gave a similar treatment to other characters- I like Nathan and Mr. Bennet the best, I think.

  11. I know, bizarre! What a strange thought.

(The car thing has always been the one thing I’ve disliked most about Heroes. I don’t care so much if they’re just tell me straight up, “We’re sponsored by so-and-so.” But do they have to weave it into the story? That annoys me.)

My last fun toy: Heroes fan-theory wiki. At least, my last fun toy for right now.

  12. I’m wondering if there will be love for Mohinder in Volume 3 – in the first volume there was that cute girl who all I remember about was that she persuaded people then there was blood. But there have been no girls for him since… so it is a possibility. And I’m pretty sure Molly and Micah would make a cute couple.

What gets me though is that Milo Ventimiglia (Peter) and Hayden Panettiere (Claire) are “dating”. Not cute.

  13. The actors. ‘Cause it’d be weird if she was dating her uncle. Regardless of my vague theory that Adam is actually her father, and West is actually Nathan’s son.

  14. Yeah the actors haha. That wouldn’t happen in the show. But the whole West being Nathan’s son/Claire being Adam’s daughter did cross my mind.

  15. Heroes are defined by their villains. I LOVED the vault scene.
I think it’d be hilarious if Micah and Molly re-defined primetime TV by being the main romantic focus.
Passing notes via calculator watches, stalking with the location powers…I forgot that Molly’s parents got taken out by Sylar. Blech. Hate that guy.

Yet Suresh is due for love. I guess Peter satisfied the need for romance in a show, even if I still sometimes blank out on Irish Girl’s name. And I guess there’s West, but I’m in a different demographic. He was whiny teenage boy, but maybe that’s what’s in. I don’t know.

And yes! West, Mr. In Cognito, should probably not set off as many windchimes.

  16. Heroes are defined by their villains.

That is a very good point. That is why part of I like Hiro so much more than Peter. Yes, Peter has a cool power, but in both seasons Peter has been on a mission to stop an event. Hiro’s been on a mission to stop a villain. Yeah, Hiro started out trying to stop the explosion last season, but it all became a lot more important when he started going after Sylar because of Charlie.

Hiro’s definitely played by the roleplayer of the group. He’s the guy who’s working out backstories before the session starts- “What if my cohort subscribes to your website?”- and developing in-game relationships- “Flying man!”

  17. if you go on the heroes website and watch the behind the scenes trailer of heroes Villians they show the guy who shot nathan and its peter you can tell its milo dressed up like the shooter all in black with the hat and in the behind the scenes clips you clearly see milo he even looks at the camera and you can tell its him under that hat im telling you watch the trailer didnt mean to spoil it for anybody but there has to be a reason, it was obviosly him from the future or something because peter was also standing next to nathan when he got shot the trailer also seems to imply that more of the characters that were formerly good may be switching sides or appear that way at least i just hope this next season is as good as the first
