Books in my Phone

Seriously, Slade, nice posting. And I, too, use Khan as a definition of the classy antagonist. Not necessarily evil, but sure causing complications.

But I never knew how much I was obsessed with Tony Jay until Devin pointed him out. Magneto in X-Men Legends? Teen Titans? Spider-Man? The Tick? And WoW, Treasure Planet, and a whole bunch of other famous narrations? This guy may actually rank up next to James Earl Jones for me. The funniest part was ReBoot (not counting his Rugrats/Ms. Spider days). I hadn’t thought of that show for so long but I totally enjoyed it. Megabyte! To quote Slade – “Oh noezorz!” (He even unites with your TMNT fans, my friends.)

You entertain me.

I reward you all with some cool stuff. Have you seen Books in my Phone yet? I had tried text files on my Nokia but the big thing was when I came back to the file I had to scroll through it to get to where I last was.

Not anymore.

Books in my Phone uses a Java program to remember where I was reading. So, if you’re like me, you can switch between Sherlock, the Virginian (blame Firefly and its burnt land/boiled seas), and some Lessig essays.

Just like Michael Stackpole trying out some technology to help readers, Neil Gaiman was the one that started this search by mentioning Doctorow.
It’s funny to think that in the next decade silent reading may involve every 8th grader busting out their phones/mobile devices. Have fun monitoring that.

Oh, wait. I’ll have to.

D’oh.

(Actually, check out this familiar site for a cool wrap-up to a modern history unit.)

  • I’m about 80% of the way through Little Brother right now, and I was on my way over to mention it to you. Way to totally scoop my post. Geez.

  • Booyor

    Same wavelength.

It’s right up my alley. I started it (but will be reading ‘The Host’ and ‘Battle of the Labyrinth’ before I can finish) and I’m looking to maybe link to it in my school site (if it’s district kosher).
