Americans have stuff.

Sometimes we want to get rid of that stuff.

Sometimes people need stuff.

Sometimes they don’t want to pay for it.

One option is to start a turf war and distract the vigilantes (just bought the Dark Knight soundtrack tonight).

The other option is Freecycle.org (like ‘recycle’…get it?). It’s a search engine of stuff in your area, organized by Yahoo groups. It’s designed to cut down on people throwing stuff away that others may want donated. Trash, treasure, and all that.
