We have entered the second day in our stand-off with the mantis. Other reputable news sites have now picked up our story.
My thoughts can best be described in the comment I left:
You would think twice about allying with such an abomination as it buzzed towards your chin.
And yet, I can’t squish it. It is a thing of beauty.
And I can’t find it.
(And sidewalk driver, it’s a little bit greener than that one. Today at school a girl was like, “Ooh! Check out the praying mantis!” and I was like, “Yeah, great…” That one was white. Albino abomination.)

The photographed one was actually pretty green also. It’s pale hue is the result of after-sunset closeup flash photography. I actually thought it looked pale too, and touched up the photo after I posted. I’ll try and send you the improved version. Maybe you could set up some sort of trap for the beast using the photograph as bait.
After our arachnid experience of last night, all I can say is, “Count your blessings, count them one by one, count your many blessings, see what God has done!”
Now you shout, “Mantis!”
