Question

Should news sources publish up-to-the-minute tallies of votes in an election?

Also, should my district have given me access to a district-sponsored domain name?

  1. Question one:
News sources shouldn’t even be allowed to have access to up-to-the minute tallies of votes. They should publish detailed election results all at once for the entire country at a set time at least 12 hours after all the polls have closed. I think they should shut down all media coverage of the election from the time the polls open in the east until they close in Hawaii. Lock them up in their lairs and don’t let them out to do anything but report the weather. I want a spin-free zone in which to cast my vote.

  2. Devin – Yes.

Driver – I would love to see that experience. I don’t get how they can feel like they don’t influence, especially in the early results that make it look like one side is a landslide.

  3. I think I will just hibernate until after the election. iPod, white (somewhat dirty) earbuds, , unplug the TV, dark sunglasses…
