It seems like every year that passes Christmas comes faster than ever, seemingly in the blink of an eye. I remember being a kid and thinking about how long the year seemed to drag out waiting in great anticipation for Christmas Eve to come. This is the time Christians all over this world celebrate the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ, and we must remember to keep that the focus for the season, not the white-bearded jolly fat guy who has the seemingly flawless ability to land reindeer on millions of rooftops without damaging shingles while at the same time not disturbing the neighborhood dogs.

This time of year conjures memories of my grandparents as well as many other memories of my various family members. I hope that all who read this bloggh have the opportunity to create new memories with the ones they care about.

Over part of these holidays I have the very cool opportunity to head over to California and hit as many of the major theme park attractions as I can with my wife, which is when she’ll get the best chance to laugh at me while I temporarily transform into a 5 year old on these rides….although I think I’ll have to bring the kleenex for “It’s a small world”…that ride gets my wife every time…(not really). It’s going to be very strange going to DisneyLand without Star Tours, but all that means is more time on Indiana Jones and Space Mountain.

Happy Holidays and prayers to your family and friends

Tonight I played MarioKart Wii with a good friend of mine and my wife. We decided to jump onto the MarioKart Wii Wi-Fi network to take on our region of players in the world. I am extremely impressed with how easy the Wii connectivity setup is and the way MarioKart’s multiplayer is set up to where the user really doesn’t experience much of any lag at all. The team-based play all around is addicting. There came a point in tonight’s gaming where a person joined by the name of “asertea.com” and when the match started right off the bat he’s in star mode as well as gigantic mode, along with having an infinite amount of red shells shooting out at all directions at such a rapid speed that all you hear is happy music but all you see are red shells flying all over the place and everybody in the game getting tossed rampantly around the map. One thing I did find hilarious about this was that when I unlocked my Mii to be able to play in the game my Mii sounds like Barney the purple dinosaur with sayings like, “Heeeeyyyy!!” “Wooowwwwweee!” “YAAAYYY!!!” so to hear these three phrases being said rapidly over and over again as my guy is being violently thrown around a retro-SNES race track while this happy music is playing made me laugh to the point of tears.
Something tells me that if this had taken place on my PS3 in a Modern Warfare 2 server, it would not have gone so well for the hacker as the amount of sheer verbal abuse they would endure from the other players would be enough for them to seek psycho-therapy.

E3 looked great, and of the many games that are coming out I’d say I’m looking forward to “The Old Republic” the most, as well as “GoldenEye” which is coming out on the Nintendo Wii. I remember several days where I’d be up all hours of the night playing with a neighbor of mine while growing up. The moment this game gets to pre-order status I’m jumping on it.

My only real complaint about future games is that I think there needs to be a “Left 4 Dead” on the PS3. If you’re looking for a game to freak you out while you play it at night this is it. I had gone over to a friend’s house to play the original Left 4 Dead with him on his XBox 360 and it was unbelievably terrifying as we played it in a pitch-black room with surround sound hooked up in full theater-style. All I will say is I’ve never been terrified like I was in that moment. FEAR 3 is another game that is coming out that will provide some pretty freaky stuff for the player.

The future of gaming is looking very bright in my opinion, and I hope it continues to progress.

I was talking with the tech guy at one of my schools and he brought up how his son’s favorite superhero is Superman, and then we started to chat about the movies that have all come out since the original motion picture. We all know that Superman I and II were epic in their own rights, and we also know that both of those movies have an entirely different feel to them than either Superman III and IV. I recently watched footage of Christopher Reeve on the Johnny Carson show giving an interview just prior to Superman III’s release. What I found funny is that he specifically intimates in later interviews after the movie that he believed Superman was meant to be a high quality and special character, and once the quality of sequels starts to diminish then it’s time to hang up the towel and pursue another path.

Superman III:

In this movie, Superman takes some time away from Metropolis to go visit Smallville as his alter-ego Clark Kent because of a high school class reunion, where he meets up with Lana Lang again. While in Smallville, Richard Pryor enters into the picture as a computer genius that’s unemployed and looking for an easy way to get rich by working for (a poor-man’s Lex Luthor) Richard Vaughn’s character “Russ Webster”. What I find interesting about this movie is that there’s so much focus and emphasis on trying to make Pryor fit into a Superman movie, that it comes off so awkward like it’s a distorted and twisted comedy. My biggest beef with this movie is that it takes Superman into his evil side by having Richard Pryor expose him to “red kryptonite”(which I’ve never heard of since in any Superman related storyline). This is another awkward scene from the movie in which evil superman battles Clark Kent in a junkyard apprently on Liberty Island: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XY3dxb5OpIw

One word – weird.

But in the end all is good:

Superman IV:

According to Reeve’s interview with Carson, there was actually never supposed to be a Superman IV, as he said that he would hang up the cape after number III. My guess is that because of the epic box office let down of Superman III, the studio felt it would be such a horrible note to end on to leave the Superman movies off on the events of Superman III, so they decided to try it again with a fourth film in which the theme was based on “anti-nuclear warheads”. In this film, Superman takes it upon himself to end the world-wide nuclear threat by vowing to collect all nuclear weapons and flying them all out into space and hurling them at the sun. One thing I found very interesting is that I was always under the impression that there was only one “Nuclear Man” which is the pet villain of Lex Luthor in this film. In an early deleted scene, there is actually a “first nuclear man”:

The final nuclear man ends up being this guy:

All in all I can definitely understand why the Superman franchise is expected to get a total reboot in 2011 with “Superman: Man of Steel”, considering that the last film to feel like it does the franchise justice was Superman II…with all it’s “KNEEL BEFORE ZOD”-ness.

Oh how far Zod has come –

I’ve had some interesting conversations over the past few weeks debating and analyzing trades, free agent prospects as well as just how I never thought I’d see the day when the Cardinals would be the team that gives Arizona sports fans the most hope for a better day. I was recently in a heated debate with a friend about the future of Lakers Free Agent Lamar Odom and how it would relate to the newest acquisition of Ron Artest when somehow another friend worked the new age artist ‘Enya’ into the conversation, stating that Ron Artest better start listening to Enya because that’s all the kind of stuff that Lakers coach Phil Jackson believes in. Then the conversation got even weirder when my friend said that he thought Enya was “hot” and that he wanted to marry her. When he said that, this picture immediately came to mind:

As the conversation progressed I felt the need to beg the question, “Man are you serious about all this?” followed by, “She’s crazy, have you heard the music she creates? Do you realize how weird that crap is? If I was married to her, I’d be afraid that in the middle of the night I might wake up from a sound sleep to see her draping herself in sheets dancing around the room while covering her face with paint singing ‘Sail away sail away sail away..” He then responded with, “yeah that would be weird wouldn’t it…but man it’s ok cause it all shows her creativity and free spirit… I respect that.” After an awkward pause, we moved on back to talking about free agency soon following that.

Ah….what NBA Free Agency does to the sports fan’s mind….

And the last thing I’ll leave you with is the reaction the rest of the NBA had once they learned that Ron Artest had signed on with the LA Lakers:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=umDr0mPuyQc&feature=related
The Camel Spider. That is one massive beastly spider. Out of curiosity spurred by Booyor-izzle’s gigantic Gator Gar or whatever that thing is, I took the challenge upon myself to find something that might challenge that Gator Gar for “Things to keep you awake at night” and so here is this thing. These are generally found in the desert, these things also vary in size from very small to ridiculous large. If you are bitten by one of these things, all I can say is get help. Much like scorpions the lethality level of these things is dependent on their size. Here is another form of the camel spider:

I have discovered the surefire method to killing both of these freakish things that not even a can of Ultra-Raid Spray can do. This weapon is so powerful that if you shoot the Gator Gar or this spider, it will send a telepathic message to all of their respective kinds saying, “Step the Eff Off o’ me”.

Arnold Schwarzenegger and Chuck Norris approve:

<img

With the NBA season officially ending in the crowning of the Los Angeles Lakers as champions of the world, there’s been an active off-season so far for many teams in the league. One of those teams that’s made some changes and looks to continue is the Phoenix Suns by sending Shaq-deezy fo Sheezy over to the Cleveland Cavaliers for Ben Wallace and a Euro of some kind. The ESPN world has talked about this trade, some are skeptical of the Cavs chances at a title considering that Shaq is now 37 years old and virtually a shell of his former self. I say that whenever you put a 7’2 335 lbs human tank in the middle of the paint it can cause problems for any team. Another reason to be a little concerned by the Cavs is that this Diesel is now paired with one who many claim to be the Messianic Savior of the NBA sitting at the right hand of Michael Jordan’s throne above the heights of the basketball heavens…LeBron James. Not only is LeBron James playing like a cheat code in a basketball video game, but the guy is a bombastic out-going energetic personality. In fact, the whole team’s locker room is already known for their pre-game antics with stunts such as this:

You add to that crazy group of guys the man who deems himself now the “Colossal Cavalier” –

and you’ve got a locker room that will make you wet yourself of laughter before you even get on the court.

Meanwhile on the Phoenix Suns front…well…it’s hot outside…and…well I guess the question would be is what exactly is the direction of their team? Who knows but whatever happens unfortunately I don’t think they won’t be sniffing a Western Conference Finals for quite some time, and that’s very sad to say after remembering the not so distant team they had with Joe Johnson, Quentin Richardson, Eddie House, etc..

Shaq felt like he could sum up everything he was feeling about the transition from Phoenix to Cleveland in a new rap, here it is:

Axel Foley is slated to make a return appearance in “Beverly Hills Cop IV” in 2010, the role being played reprised by Eddie Murphy. In a recent interview with Extra TV, Eddie Murphy expressed doubt in returning as Foley as “the movie wasn’t ready to be done.” In a later interview with MTV, Murphy stated that he would be returning for a fourth installment. One reason he stated was that “the third Beverly Hills Cop was horrible!” and that he “didn’t want to leave it like that”. Michael Brandt and Derek Haas were hired as screenwriters for the film. Director Brett Ratner has been quoted as saying, “It’ll be back but it’ll be a whole new interpretation.” What that means in code is, “We want to make money, and the way to make money is to make it rise to a similar quality as the original.”

If they can’t bring back Pinchot, they could certainly bring in Manu Ginobili of the San Antonio Spurs to fill in for him, I’m sure he would be more than happy to do it considering his team won’t be getting very far in the post-season anytime in the near future.

Check out the similarity:

—————————————-

Ghostbusters III is another 80′s franchise that has been talked about for some time, only as a fanboy’s dream and fantasy, that is up until now. In a telephone interview, Comingsoon.net talked to writer/director Harold Ramis (Year One, Analyze This, Groundhog Day) and received some details about the upcoming Ghostbusters III project. Harold Ramis and Dan Aykroyd wrote the scripts for the first two movies and both starred with Bill Murray, Ernie Hudson, and Sigourney Weaver. Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky, who are regular writers for “The Office”, are developing a first draft of the script and Ramis says that he’s confident that the new movie will feature most if not all of it’s original cast:

“I wrote the story for the new movie with Eisenberg and Stupnitsky, and Dan Aykroyd and I’ve been consulting. We’re just waiting to see a first draft and where we are … Everyone says they’ll do it; they’ve all said they’ll do it. No one has signed anything yet–we haven’t signed anything either–but there’s the spirit of willingness in the air.”

Ramis also touched on whether or not the original Ghostbusters director Ivan Reitman will take control of the new movie:

“I don’t think he wants to; I’m not sure I want to. It’s just a lot of open questions. Until we see a script, I don’t think anyone really knows how they feel about it. Everyone’s open to doing it, that’s the main thing, that’s what got it moving forward.”

Ramis says there will be a much younger team of Ghostbusters for this adventure, with the original characters taking on more of mentorship roles(Bill Murray a mentor?).

With all of that said, “Ghostbusters III” is currently slated for a release sometime in 2012, if that actually comes to fruition or not we will find out.

My only request is that if you are going to bring back installments of these great franchises, please put forth a product that is going to be worthy of the names. If you don’t believe you can produce a great product, don’t do it…otherwise you’ll end up with George Clooney and Val Kilmer trying to be Batman-like results..the same thing that teachers tell us from a very early age about anti-drugs applies directly to this concept, “just say no”.

   Wayman Tisdale

Today the world has lost a great sports figure as well as musician. It’s rare that you come across people in this day and age that by their very presence can liven up a room. Many in this world of sin and corruption will pursue fame, they’ll pursue fortune, they’ll pursue pleasure and they will do whatever it takes to grab hold of material things. This man was not one of those people. This man was one who worked hard on the basketball court to produce solid results by becoming a three-time All-American, as well as claiming the record for most points scored by any player in their freshman and sophomore years. He won a gold medal as a member of the 1984 U.S. Olympic basketball team coached by Indiana University’s Bobby Knight, and the Indiana Pacers made Tisdale the second overall pick in the 1985 NBA Draft. As a center and power forward, Tisdale averaged over 15 points and six rebounds per game in a 12-season professional career with the Indiana Pacers, Sacramento Kings and Phoenix Suns. His best season was in 1989-90 with the Kings, when he averaged 22.3 points and 7.5 rebounds a game. Tisdale and Mitch “The Rock” Richmond combined to one of the most dynamic duos in the NBA. In 1997, Tisdale retired to focus on his musical career. Tisdale released his debut CD, Power Forward, in 1995. In 2002, he was awarded the Legacy Tribute Award by the Oklahoma Jazz Hall of Fame. As a result of Tisdale’s fight with cancer, his experiences have led him to create a foundation to raise funds to help amputees with the prosthetic process, which is not always covered by health insurance. His efforts on the court have been doubled by his work in his own surrounding communities as well as throughout the nation.

In April 2009, Tisdale accepted an award from the Greenwood Cultural Center in Tulsa, and then set off on a 21-date national concert tour.

Tisdale died on the morning of May 15, 2009, at age 44, at St. John Medical Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was admitted to the ER for breathing troubles.

I am a musician as well as a fan of the game of basketball, and I will miss this man greatly.

The day has come, I have finally achieved unlimited rocket launcher ammunition as well as unlimited ammunition on any gun known to man in Resident Evil 5. If any gamers read this article and are wondering about how to go about doing these, be careful who you listen to…but here are the ways to do it:

1.) There’s an actual option you have to unlock called “unlimited ammo” in the game, but the only way to unlock it is to beat the game from beginning to end. Once you’ve beaten the game go into chapter select and switch on the mode “unlimited ammo” to yes.

2.) Even though you have turned on unlimited ammo you need to fully upgrade each gun you wish to have as being infinite. Once you have fully upgraded the weapon of your choice, you must go into the main menu and select “Bonus Features”, and under that there will be an option to exchange points to unlock the specific gun’s unlimited option.

3.) To unlock unlimited rocket launcher ammo you have to beat the entire game in under 5 hours. The RE5 guys make this a bit easier because you can go into individual chapter-select mode and beat one chapter at a time until you get the time of completion down to your desire. The moment that you beat the game in under 5 hours a happy message will bleep up on screen that says “unlimited rocket launcher”, and after that happens you’ll get a cold sense rush through your body and you will hear a faint “oh noooeesss” come from the zombies….not really.

The game was pretty tough, and even frustrating at times, but upon completion and once you’ve taken the liberty to unlock all the unlimited options for weapons you want it becomes even more fun than before. You can tell that the developers knew how much the player would desperately want more ammo, because throughout most of the game unless you headshot every zombie you ever come across, even bosses, you still won’t have enough ammo to make it…so now with unlimited ammo, all I can say is the 4 horsemen of the apocalpyse come in the form of the:

AK-74 ,
Lightning Hawk Magnum ,
RIF Sniper Rifle ,
and the Rocket Launcher .

I think I even heard one zombie whimper out a “please don’t hurt m-” at which point at point blank range he got blasted in the face.

There has been a drought of quality in games over the past several years where a great game can easily be lost in the midst of sub-par products. The near future has great potential to provide gamers with some of the best games to come out in a very long time. The following are titles that I am looking forward to the most to come out:

1.) Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2

2.) Diablo III

3.) Star Wars: The Old Republic

4.) StarCraft II

5.) The Conduit*

The reason I placed an asterisk by the title is because about 10 years ago an independent group of developers coming from out of nowhere named “Dynamix” showed the entire gaming world what a real team-based FPS game is supposed to be all about, so here’s to hoping that these guys put out a great product. The jury is still out with this game. The Conduit guy has gone from looking like a geeky kid showing up to a nerd convention to looking like a futuristic Johnny Cage from Mortal Kombat.

All of the games that I listed above each have their own potential to be incredible games that will suck the lives away from millions of normal average citizens and transform them into cave-dwelling hermits whose skin burns at the slightest contact with sunlight –

Who knows when StarCraft II or Diablo III will come out, Blizzard seems to be taking their sweet time with both titles and fans world wide have clung to rumors only to end in disappointment. Another RPG, Star Wars: The Old Republic has promise because the vehicle behind it is BioWare, and they have yet to let me down…just hoping this will not be another Star Wars: Galaxies.

In my opinion Modern Warfare 2 will be the redefinition of shooter games by ushering in a new style of teamplay action. This game is the one I am most excited for, and since Infinity Ward is behind it I have full faith that they will spend a considerable amount of time making an incredible game.

I was awoken by a loud man’s voice saying, “BILLY MAYS HERE!!!” that sent me in a state of temporary shock trying to figure out if there was an emergency situation around me, all to realize that it was just Billy Mays shouting his message to the rooftops about how much mini-portable lights will keep me from falling down the stairs or over the dog during the night time.

Later on I was watching TV and I came across a guy I’ve never seen before, and I hope to never see again. The product he was pushing was the “Sham-Wow” but he has an interesting approach at trying to get you to buy his stuff. He uses sarcasm and insults the viewer enough to where either the viewer walks away feeling dejected or wants to buy the product just to shut him up.

So I ask, which one is more annoying?

Billy Mays:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2SabRvYb0eE

Vince:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QwRISkyV_B8

Holy crap. How much can elementary kids come up with when this day comes up? All I heard were jokes and lies about people either dying, riding unicorns, or even one 2nd grader comes up to me and says, “Guess who I saw today?” and my response was initially a thought to myself “if I ignore him and keep walking, maybe he will go away.” That did not happen how I wanted it to. Infact the kid runs up in front of me tugging on my pants and screams this time “GUESS WHO I SAW TODAY?!?!?” with eyes bulging out of his face, and I respond with, “Barack Obama”, and the boy says, “I SAW DARTH VADER and YOU LOOK LIKE HIM!!” and I responded with silence….puzzled and wondering what I need to do to get away from this psycho as fast as possible, and then the boy yells loud enough for the entire neighborhoodz0r to hear, “APRIL FOOLS”. I looked at him and I said, “haha…guess what….you almost had it right, I’m Darth Sidious..” he looks at me jaw dropped and says “are you really him?” which I followed up with..”No.” and walked away.

This was my face at the end of the day:

It’s all good, but I definitely thought of the high school students that I’ve regularly had the pleasure of working with and it nearly brought tears to my eyes to think, “Just a few weeks ago I was helping students learn about the inner chord structures and progressions found within the piece “Witch and the Saint” and now fast forward and what am I doing? ‘Old McDonald had a Farm”, which if I had it my way would be entitled “Old McDonald had enough of hearing kids sound like fart playing his song so he left the friggin’ barn”

No matter what happens to me during the day good or bad, seeing this picture will always bring out a laugh:

Resistance: Fall of Man had an epic single player storyline that was far greater and beyond the standard, “I’m in Mars and all I know is I’ve got a gun and I’m killing demons, no-one knows why, but I’m killing demons…*oops* I just farted.” Doom/Quake soldier storyline which has it’s place if you’ve just gotten out of traffic on the 101 freeway in the valley of the sun and you’re looking for a “civilized” way to take out your aggression. The major aspect that drew fans from around the world was the phenomenal “Co-Op Campaign mode” where you got to play the same storyline as two soldiers in split-screen team based style. That still is one of the most fun times I’ve ever had playing a game, because I wasn’t alone in a freakin’ room, and I could actually look at and converse with the person I was playing with in the same room *GASP*

Killzone 2 had been promised to have a patch added on post-launch to incorporate a 4-player campaign co-op. What happens? The game makers a month later come out and say, “It would just be too difficult to add in a co-op, and we don’t see a market for it.” The funniest thing I’ve seen in a long time was the 10 pages that immediately followed of fans ultimately PO’d at the sudden change. Here is the message that I’m getting from game makers nowadays, “We’re going to create multiplayer that will suit the average gamer because we assume they have no friends, play online with people who’s faces they’ve never seen before, have no siblings/cousins to play with, so we’ll screw over the rest of the gaming world that DOES have at least friends or siblings in a real life interraction setting.”

Here’s a message to them:

Any great Final Fantasy game has taken the company SquareSoft(now Square-Enix) at least 2-3 years to create, and any great Metal Gear Solid game has taken the same amount of time roughly. What’s the one thing these two franchises have in common? They’re legacies built on the basis of high quality product and competent game developers because they wanted to do the job right the first time.

I find the excuse, “It’s too difficult to do” a cop-out because some of the greatest games to ever come out were on the original Nintendo and guess what, they were co-op. Graphics have changed, technology has changed, but the one thing that should not change is the will and desire to give the consumer the best product possible. Believe me, you will make your money if you create a game that not only has a great single player storyline, but a great multi player experience as well with the added option of a co-op. Certain games just absolutely call for co-op, like Call of Duty, Battlefront, Resistance, Halo…you get the point.

If the console game makers are really wanting to know the secret to finally defeating the PC in the gaming war here is a hint, you can start by creating a solid and exceptional split-screen co-op option.

Online deathmatch or teamplay has it’s place, believe me I love it just as much as the next person, but it would also be cool to have the added option to be able to play with other people in a real-life setting as well.

Console game makers will never progress in the multiplayer arena if this is who they gear everything towards:

The Sith have corrupted an old friend, persuading him with promises of fulfillment through passion, strength through aggression, unlimited power through fear and intimidation, and chants of “Yes we can”.

It seems like a long time ago since the Phoenix Suns were going on 10+ game winning streaks, and it seems like even longer that the Suns have gotten past the Semi-Conference Finals. A lot has happened with the team this past off-season til now, some good and some bad.

I don’t know about the rest of you who will read this post, but I for one am a fan of Brian and Jerry Colangelo. I think they built the Purple Palace from ground zero to a Finals appearance against what most consider a legendary ’93 Bulls team led by the larger than life Michael Jordan. From father to son, they carried on and built one of the most entertaining and revolutionary basketball teams ever assembled in 2004-2005, and that looked like the start of an incredible run…only to be halted by a series of weird occurrences against the San Antonio Spurs. Brian Colangelo left the team in the hands of Robert Sarver, and pursued his chances with the Toronto Raptors. Since the shift of power, in my opinion the Suns have progressively become worse, even literally by losing in a regressive motion from the Western Conference Finals, to the Semi’s, to a first round exit.

During the year of 2008 the Suns have lost key employees such as Shawn Marion, Raja Bell, Boris Diaw, and Mike D’Antoni. I’m not sure that Shawn Marion was ever going to be happy unless he felt like he was on a team where he could be “the man” and get a Kobe/KG-like max contract with a boat load of money to go along with it. It has now come out apparently that Amare Stoudemire is seeking the same treatment as Marion, Raja Bell requested a trade 2 weeks ago due to his unwillingness to follow a slow-motion grind it out offense that Terry Porter wanted, and that Steve Nash and Porter disagree strongly when it comes to the two offensive styles…Run and gun aka 7 seconds or less and feed the ball to Shaq when you can’t run and gun, or never run and slow the pace down considerably, to an insomnia-curing offense that rivals the Spurs in level of boredom.

The Suns recently acquired J. Rich from the Charlotte Bobcats in exchange for Raja Bell and Boris Diaw, leaving one more remaining spot that is required to be filled by league rules. My question to Kerr is, what is your plan and vision for this team? Sarver states that he wants to win now. Kerr states that he wants to win now. Having a record of 14-10 while other teams like the Lakers and Celtics have lost only 2-3 games so far, states that there needs to be more done to raise the probability of being able to “win now”, because J-Rich alone is not enough to get past teams like the Celtics or Lakers no matter how many high flying dunks he throws down. This team is aging, and it makes me wonder what moves Kerr/Sarver are going to make to bring about players who can fit into the system most efficiently…wait a minute….what IS the Suns system? As referenced before, they’re stuck between run and gun offense and grind it out diesel powered offense, almost like they’re a multiple personality disorder.

My quickest solution would be to come to terms with the fact that this team’s natural identity is ’80s Lakers showtime with an up-tempo offense. Kareem Abdul-Jabbaar the Hutt would ignite the offense off the rebound for quick fast-break points even up into his late 30′s. That’s the style Steve Nash thrives in, that’s the style the newly acquired J-Rich likes, heck, even Shaq said he’d like to ignite that type of offense…and he’s a good enough passer to do that.

In my opinion there’s still some moves that need to be made to get this team back on track, but we’ll see what Kerr does.

I remember right after the Shaq trade Kerr said, “I’ll either be known as a genius or a moron.” as he chuckled, well no-one’s laughing now, because that’s the reality of the situation, and good ole MJ ain’t around to pull you out of this pressure situation.

For those of you who know me personally, you know that this year has been an interesting one full of transitions. The last dagger that I was hit with was that my normal hair cut place is now charging 40 bucks for a guy’s hair cut, and unless that’s going to be a life-changing hair cut experience with a shampoo hair massage by a super model, it’s not worth the 40 bucks.

Today was the start of my journey to find a comparable place that wasn’t expensive, and I took someone’s advice and headed over to the Arrowhead mall salon in JC Penny’s. I was surprised that I could get in without waiting for an appointment, but then I realized why when I was greeted by this:

This woman, to me, looked like what would be produced if my grandma’s old chain smoking decrepit neighbor and Emperor Palpatine had a love match. I was gauged about 3 different times around the neck and ear, and the conversation went about like this: Haircutter- “Come with me.” Slade- “Ok.” and dead silence from then on until she pulled out a hair gel bottle called, and I kid you not, “Short Fit Sexy Hair…guaranteed for Hard up hair” and right after I got past the initial w…t…h.. reaction I said, “Don’t ever use anything with the word ‘Sexy’ in it on me.”

I ended up walking out and my hair looked like this:

All I’ve got to say about that experience is

Finally, it’s a reality…Guitar Hero: Metallica brings the music of one of my favorite rock bands of all time to the gaming systems. Ever since the original Guitar Hero came out I always thought that the franchise isn’t really complete until they pick up some of the greatest and most challenging hits from Metallica. There’s nothing like ripping through songs like “Enter Sandman” and “Master of Puppets”.
The only thing I really hope they include is some sort of bonus tracks for the Symphonic-enhanced versions of their songs. Next up…Guitar Hero: Genesis! (Not likely but I’d be one of the first to pick that up)

*Nathan Hale’s face as he yells, “I’M NOT A FRIGGIN’ ONE MAN ARMY OVER HERE”

Resistance 2 is on the way with a release date of November 4th. I can’t wait for this game to come out, and I can’t believe it’s finally here. With Square-Enix having betrayed their fanbase and crossed the lines by having Final Fantasy on both XBox 360 and PS3, this game is the only thing that PS3 owners can hold over the XBox owners’ heads.

The Phoenix Suns center Shaquille O’Neal(The Big Aristotle, The Big Cactus, The Big Asthmatic) has undergone a total personality change. From the troubles of his time in Miami where the team was on a 17 game losing streak, to the Kobe drama in which he performed a rap about how Kobe can’t win without him, to losing in the first round of last years playoffs to the San Antonio Spurs. He’s now noticeably much happier in his tone, and appears to be on the offensive against Spurs coach Greg Popovich.

Here’s an interesting article…..

“Wed Oct 15, 2008 10:00 am EDT
Shaq calls Spurs cowards, rips Nash and Suns’ defense

By J.E. Skeets

As anyone who has ever been around a New York nightclub can attest, Suns center — legend, sheriff, rapper, etc. — Shaquille O’Neal tends to shoot from the hip/lip when he gets in front of a microphone. He’s like Charles Barkley, but with a deeper voice and rhythm.

Well, Sports 620 KTAR had a mic at Suns practice Tuesday, so, naturally, The Big Outspoken did what he does best: talk. The money quote came when he was asked about the Suns’ first-round loss to the Spurs in last year’s playoffs. O’Neal said he didn’t mind that “Hack-a-Shaq” strategy wasn’t changed in the rules during the offseason, but that there is no need to do it when a team is up 10 points. Shaq, via FanHouse:

“When you’re down, I can see using that as a strategy. But when you’re up 10, 15 points, there’s really no need for that. That’s a coward move. And he knows that. I’ll make ‘em pay for that.”

You hear that, Gregg Popovich? You’re a coward! A coward hiding behind a beard!

And the fun/embarrassment didn’t stop there. Later in the media scrum — earmuffs, Nash and Raja! — Shaq asks how he’s supposed to stay in front Tony Parker and company if the Phoenix guards can’t, and then notes a blown defensive rotation on Tim Duncan’s [fudge'n] three in Game 1. He also takes credit for James Posey and Jason Kapono’s fat free agent contracts. <a “

I’m a fan of Shaq. I think the guy is one big goofy guy who doesn’t take too much seriously unless you tell him he can’t. This will be an interesting year as the Suns vs. Spurs heat seems to be turning up once again.

BTW, Shaq is responsible for leading the efforts to world peace if anyone hasn’t noticed.

Resistance 2 is the up and coming sequel to the blockbuster hit Resistance: Fall of Man. The story follows the psychotic and heroic Nathan Hale as he fights off the Chimera… and in co-op mode he gets the help of his no-name friend, who he doesn’t even know his own name he’s so random. There are no co-op games out for the consoles, which is really strange, and there are absolutely no co-op games out for the FPS genre, which is ridiculous. One of the many reasons for why Resistance as a franchise is the best of the console FPS genre is because of the offline co-op mode, and the co-op mode is taken seriously. With these co-op games, the story that you play through is the same as the single player storyline, but sometimes it is actually purposely made with variation and is amped up in difficulty.

Take a hike Grand Master Chief or whatever your name is with your wannabe Quake guy helmet.
Here’s a picture of what Halo wishes it could be:

I think that Cloverfield would have to take a timeout if faced with this:

On a side note…Per Booyor’s advice I got Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, and as of today beat the game. It is very impressive, but is too short, as well as too limited as far as multi-player goes, a long with the potential it could have had had lucas arts used some common sense.
It’s all coming in November.

FEAR 2: STCOY(Scare the Crap Outta You) is the sequel to the much acclaimed, and nightmare inspiring FEAR. The original game was the first game besides Penumbra to really make me hesitant about going down darkly lit staircases…even with an automatic rifle in hand. The storyline is based around a supernatural entity disguised as “Alma”, a young bizarro looking red-riding hood that appears in your soldier’s dreams and likes to freak you out with regularity.

This is Alma:

All I remember about this game, and I won’t name names, but a specific person played the original FEAR game and chucked the controller up in the air and ran away from the TV screen saying, “OMG I’m done, I’m done.” during a part where your soldier has a close encounter Will Smith style(Independence Day) with a spirit.

As Per IGN.com:
“The second heart-stopping shooter by Monolith (after F.E.A.R.) continues the spine-tingling supernatural suspense story of an escalating paranormal crisis that threatens to destroy a major American city. At the center of the calamity is the mysterious Alma, whose rage against those who wronged her triggered a chain of events that has spiraled completely out of control. Now that she has been loosed upon the world, the consequences will be unimaginable.”

I remember joking with my brother as well as discussing this thought with some other friends, and asking, “If this game were real, what kind of a person would be not only willing, but actually enjoy fighting all these demons and spirits, how in the world would you deal with it?”

There’s only one man who can do it…and it’s psycho-Casey Jones. That’s right, the psycho version of the hockey stick toting tough guy from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is the only guy who can sustain a high level of intensity in fighting these freak shows off and actually doing it with enjoyment.

Here’s the man psycho-Casey Jones:

The new game Star Wars: The Force Unleashed is on its way bringing some pretty serious new technology to the next-gen consoles, as well as PSP and PS2. It looks to be a great storyline with tremendous potential to provide the fullness of the Star Wars experience through rich character development and WICKED SICK LIGHTSABER MOVEZORZ!#@$?!% lol jk

All kidding aside, the storyline of The Force Unleashed does look good, but here’s my problem, thus the title “Force Restrained”:

- LucasArts got its start on the PC. In fact, it used to be so much toward the PC that barely any games came out on consoles beyond the “Super Star Wars Turbo” or whatever that SNES game was. LucasArts really let down a lot of PC users by not making a version of this game for the PC. They came out with a comment that most computer’s in the average household could not handle the graphics found in The Force Unleashed. I can understand that, but then a suggestion was put out to have the ability to water down the graphics a little bit. If sheer power to support graphics are the issue, why is it on the PS2 and PSP, considering there are now PS2 emulators out for the computer in which you can download and play PS2 games for free. LucasArts received somewhere in the thousands of responses from really ticked off fans that took it a lot more serious than anything I’ve ever seen.
- Next-Gen Consoles….but only Wii gets multi-player. I’m very glad that LucasArts is making games for the consoles, that’s awesome. I’m a proud PS3 and Nintendo Wii owner, and I love both systems. LucasArts has totally slapped the next-gen console player in the face by restricting the multi-player option to “duel mode”…. WHAT THE!?!? This game is available on all systems, and all systems have the capability to play this game to its full potential. Why in the world would you restrict a potential epic classic in the ways of multi-player? The multi-player concept has been included since Jedi Knight as well as other games around that era, and a ton of fans viewed it as an absolutely essential element to this game for those who want to go beyond the Single-Player experience. There is a game coming out, and it’s called MAG(Massive Action Game) on PS3, and it supports over 200 players at the same time while not using as advanced graphics as Force Unleashed.
- Lightsaber movement restricted to basic moves, even on Wii. This is why the Wii needed to come out with Wii Sports Resort’s fencing feature, because they had to show LucasArts how to properly create a dueling style game utilizing the capabilities of the Wii remote.
- With all of these cutbacks, this game is looking more and more like a suped-up version of the Episode III video game.

I don’t know what happened to leadership and development in the higher ups of LucasArts, but whatever happened needs to change. This game had a ton of potential to be a phenomenal game that allowed you to do more things and have more options, not only just with the multi-player aspect.

The title is to the point for a reason. I believe that this election is being fought heavily across the internet, and it is important for people to know the facts about what their candidate says specifically about the issues. Booyor posted two videos concerning the Rick Warren forum in which both candidates spoke on their views and beliefs when it comes to faith.

For some reason my Firefox will not post an embedded youtube link and show it up as a video, no idea why but here’s the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4FCNKwHRCQMwatch?v=4FCNKwHRCQM

Here’s another link in which he showcases his great love for the ’80′s: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=65I0HNvTDH4

Yes, he really did just do that.

Congratulations to Team USA Basketball both men’s and women’s. The men’s “Redeem Team” accomplished their mission of bringing back home the gold medal in what turned out to be an epic showdown against Spain. This had to be one of the rare times when two NBA teammates faced each other on opposite ends of the court(Kobe Bryant vs. Pau Gasol). Dwyane Wade showed up huge for Team USA, and as the game started to cave in for Team USA, Coach K told Kobe, “Let the black mamba loose”. At this point, Kobe was involved in helping Team USA solidify the victory.

The following is an article on Team USA vs. Spain:

“Kobe Bryant had 13 points and two assists in the fourth quarter as Team USA survived a gritty, determined performance by Spain to win the gold medal game, 118-107. Bryant began his onslaught with 8:13 left in the game and Team USA clinging to a 91-89 lead; in the next 2:11 he scored five points and assisted on a Deron Williams three pointer and a Dwight Howard dunk. Later, Bryant drained two three pointers, including a four point play. Bryant finished with 20 points, a game-high six assists and two blocked shots in 27 minutes. Dwayne Wade scored a game-high 27 points on 9-12 field goal shooting and added a game-high four steals, providing a vital boost off of the bench, especially in the first half when he scored 21 points while Bryant and LeBron James were saddled with foul trouble. James contributed 14 points, six rebounds, three assists and three steals. Carmelo Anthony and Chris Paul scored 13 points each. Rudy Fernandez led Spain with 22 points, while Pau Gasol had 21 points and six rebounds. Juan Carlos Navarro scored 18 points and led Spain with four assists.”

After watching this whole 3-year Olympic process evolve, I have come to the conclusion that Coach K is the man, and I would take him over Phil Jackson anyday.

1. A control feature that doesn’t feel wild and make your guy spaz and start looking at either the sky or the ground while you’re running.
2. Some variety other than clone bugs so it doesn’t feel like I’m Arnold Schwarzennegger from the movie Predator vs. the Mimic movies.
3. A voice block feature in-game. I.E. I was playing a hard fought and serious game of Headquarters, where my teammates and I were protecting the base in Call of Duty 4, and as I’m walking slowly hugging the wall, out of nowhere I hear Gloria Estefan singing “1, 2, 3, 4 come on baby sing it to me, 5, 6, 7 times” louder than anything I’ve ever heard in a long time. That would suck to play Conduit and hear Madonna or something else start playing over the server.
4. Multiple multi-player modes online that are easy to connect to unlike Mario Strikers, where just when you think you’re connected, you get an error message and the system locks up.

PS3 games I’m looking forward to:
1. Resistance 2
2. FF13
3. FEAR: Project Origin
4. Resident Evil 5
5. Facebreaker Infinity
6. Playstation Home

Wii games I’m looking forward to:
1. The Conduit
2. Mario Death
3. Mario Kart vs. Rock N’ Roll Racing
4. Bright Lights Freakout Revolution
5. LEGO: Sociopath edition

XBox 360 games I’m looking foward to:
1. No more Halo.
2. Gears of War 2

Catastrophic disappointment of the year:
1. Force Unleashed being stripped down to an uber version of the Episode III video game instead of the next great Star Wars classic in both single-player and multi-player since the original Jedi Knight.
I can understand the reasons behind not putting it on computer, but putting it on PS2 and PSP is strange, especially if your reasons for not releasing it on the PC are graphically-based.
This means that all LucasArts fans(including myself) have to look forward to more LEGO Star Wars and LEGO Indiana Jones for a long time. Man…it’s like they each had a massive lobotomy done and woke up one day saying, “You know what, we had games like X-Wing, Rebel Assault, and Jedi Knight, but you know what, our fans are spoiled with all the good games we’re putting out, so lets take it down a notch shall we?”

On the Sports front, Team USA plays Turkey on Thursday at 8 AM EST, yes that’s right 8 AM as in MORNING(Arizona residents, this translates as “friggin’ early”), and Team USA is just coming from a 60 something point victory over Team Canada this past Friday.

I was browsing some basketball shoe sites and started laughing at how ridiculously expensive some of those NBA Star created shoes are, ranging from 90-170 bucks. But then I came across something that I would be willing to pay that range for..especially if they tied themselves and talked to me…

If you notice them as being familiar, check them out on a hoverboard.

The truth about these shoes is that Kobe Bryant is taking the design of those shoes and making them his own…I will laugh if I see these shoes in purple and gold.

After playing one of the most fun video games known to man with one of my good friends, I returned home, turned on the TV, and the most vile thing I’ve ever seen came up on the screen immediately…..Meryl Streep in a “Helga” type outfit lip-syncing the words to the famously annoying melody of “Mamma Mia”. This theme has got to rank as one of the top most annoyingly disturbing melodies right up there with the “five hundred twenty five billion six hundred mili-SE-CONDS!!” theme from another creatively horrific flick known as “Rent!” Any film that has a plot where the bride-to-be tries to find out who her father is out of 3 of her mother’s past man-friends, and instead of going to each one individually and analyzing the evidence, you just invite them all to the wedding and throw caution to the wind with it, spells trouble for the viewer. Not only does it say to the viewer, “Man, this doesn’t look good…” but it also says, “Man, what was I thinking wasting my 4 bucks a gallon gas on coming to see this film?” Out of any of the actors in this film, the only one that I can honestly say that I trust to put on a good show is Stellan Skarsgård(Exorcist fame). His co-clowns of fathers in this movie include Pierce Brosnon(REMINGTON STEELE FAME OMG), and Colin Firth(also seen in..wouldn’t you know…THE MISTAKEN HUSBAND wow you can’t make this stuff up).

Predictably though, film critics will adore this film and deem it worthy of several Hollywood Film awards and proclaim it as the best thing that’s come out since…well…RENT!

What I find funny about Hollywood, and this isn’t just from my perspective, but I was talking with my pastor about Hollywood when he pointed out something very strange to me, “Only in Hollywood would you find the biggest egocentric people who set up all these award shows in which the actors vote for whoever amongst them as to who is/will be the most awesome of all.” This is certainly the case, because also Hollywood is the only place you would find a guy named Tom Cruise talk about how he’s operating on a certain level of whatever, and he’s working on getting to a certain level of awesome to heal people with his hands and do other unnaturally superstitious things like that.

Geez Mary Louise…..what would actors like John Wayne, Jimmy Stewart, Humphrey Bogart, Errol Flynn and even James Cagney have said about what Hollywood has turned into. Back in those times you saw actors acting out of a self-obligation to serve in the armed forces, not to look like heroes or to look good for the camera, but to help ensure the freedoms of a nation. What in the CRAP would Pierce Brosnon do if asked to serve in the armed forces…maybe he would wink his eye and raise his eyebrows at the same time like he did in trying to pass off as being James Bond. (Btw as far as Bonds go, Sean Connery all the way).

Save the money folks, go see Kung-Fu Panda(SCA-DOOSH), Mummy 3, Journey to the Center of the Earth, and most important of all….Dark Knight(RIP Heath Ledger).

To those of you who after reading this post are still considering even glancing at a commercial for “Mamma Mia!”, I’ve only got one thing to say to you….

Picard knows his stuff, there ya go, don’t let him down.

Sony Entertainment is in the final processes of fine-tuning their “Playstation Home” online service in which all PS3 owners who have online capability can go online and join an enormous community with millions of other PS3 users. I can’t really describe all of the things you can do in this world that Sony’s creating, but what I will say is that out of any of the next-gen consoles(XBox 360′s Live and Nintendo Wii’s Mii service), this has to be the most outstanding community service I have ever seen from the standpoint of world detail, to chat service, to media entertainment, to being able to join games with other people and hosting clan headquarters. If Playstation Home becomes what Sony sets out for it to be, this will be the thing online console gamers have been looking for a very long time.

Game developers BioWare and LucasArts are teaming up to create a, in their words, “new entertainment product” which in normal speak means “video game”. Both developers have stated that they will be using some of the ground-breaking technology that was used in Star Wars: The Force Unleashed to bring about a new online multi-player game that is said to be based on the Knights of the Old Republic setting.

A previous attempt at an MMORPG in the Star Wars world started off massively successful, coming up in a close 2nd only to World of Warcraft in 2004, but then dropped off because of a lack of support for the game.

What does this mean for the world of gamers? This means that now those who are devoting their lives to WoW will now have another life in this new Star Wars MMORPG, meaning that they will not have any excuse to leave their computers, or to even go to work/school. This essentially completes the universal sci-fi fan’s biggest dream of an online world totally devoted to killing dwarf-orc beasts and nerfherders.

All kidding aside I am looking forward to this game to come out, and am hoping that BioWare keeps LucasArts in check.

Old link but the site is still there with the announcement: http://www.lucasartsbioware.com/

^ Those sunglasses on the Conduit guy remind me of the kid who’s always getting left behind and made fun of in the marching band for playing baritone or something like that.

The NBA Finals are now over, after being pushed to a game 6 in which the Boston Celtics beat the Los Angeles Lakers in Boston.

“Beat” is an understatement in this situation though, considering the final score came to be 131-92. The Boston Celtics have come a long way since a year ago, when Paul Pierce was questioning his presence and continuity with the team, as well as if Danny Ainge spent his company time playing Gears of War and Halo all day instead of keeping tabs on scouting reports, cap space, future draft considerations, and the latest gossip on how Phil Jackson and Jeanie Buss are using the dog whisperer to train their dogs. Well, Danny Ainge came out and pulled off not one, but two blockbuster deals for two future Hall of Fame candidates in Ray Allen and Kevin Garnett. Among other additions, the teams newly found leaders coerced two 3-point specialists in James Posey and Eddie House(Former Sun) to join their team.

The Celtics at the end of the day had a stacked team of players that seem only likely to be on the same team if one were to do so in NBA 2k8. Though they are a talented bunch, I do have some issues with a lot of sports guys in the media world and the hype they’re giving this team.

This Boston Celtic “powerhouse” set an NBA record of their own…They are the first team to ever play the most post-season games at 26 games. The Celtics opened up in the 1st round of the playoffs barely surviving the onslaught of the Atlanta Hawks(barely made playoffs) as Ray Allen pulled a Casper disappearing act in the anti-clutch, forcing the series to 7. Next up on the radar is the Cavaliers led by LeBron James, which again, like before….the Celtics have to go 7 games to beat a Cavalier team that was 8 games above .500. Now…onto the Eastern Conference Finals against the media deemed “Mighty Mighty” Pistons(Sounds a lot like a movie starring Denzel Washington..) Now keep in mind that the Celtics up to this point had yet to win a road playoff game against the previous two teams. The Pistons series went 6 games, as the Celtics pulled out two wins against the Pistons on their home court.
As funny as all of the above sounds, I’m not making any of this stuff up, though I wish I could make up a plot line like this and send it in to the NBA Commissioner David Stern to come up with a new storyline for next season, and then focus every single possible NBA commercial on that team’s most famous star(Carmina Burana themed KG commercials).

The Celtics vs. Lakers NBA Finals was an interesting one that had several 20+ point leads decimated to nail-biting heroics that either saved the game or didn’t by both sides. The Celtics were able to pull out a defense of triple and quadruple teams on Kobe Bryant, forcing another Laker to step up…which did not happen at any point in this series except game 5 with Lamar Odom and Pau Gasol playing up to the standards they did which got them to the Finals.
Before I get to the Lakers, I want to make something perfectly clear. There are a lot of people, especially in the media that are saying that this Boston Celtic team is the absolute best team the NBA has ever seen. Here’s the deal….Larry Bird’s Celtics of the ’80′s were from top to bottom, far superior to the entire 2008 team, in every way, shape, and form known to man. Not only were they better players, but they were also great people and competitors, not wanting to celebrate too soon, and always wanting to stay humble in congratulating the enemy, even with as much competitive hate as they had toward Magic Johnson, still would go up to each player and congratulate them. Now I won’t go into what I saw from the 2008 Celtics team with 6 minutes left in the game, but all I will say is that stuff would not fly under Red Auerbach’s watch.
Needless to say, it seems that a lot of these media types seem to forget two 3-peat teams during the ’90′s, against a much tougher eastern conference let alone a much tougher league, and it was led by a guy named Michael Jordan, and they seemed to put down the hammer pretty well.

The Lakers had a strong run at the title with a 57-25 record, especially with being able to pull off a hijack of a deal getting All-Star PF Pau Gasol from the Memphis Grizzlies in wake of an unforseen injury to up and rising Center Andrew Bynum. After the Gasol trade, the Lakers went 27-9 to finish out with the top seed in the Western Conference. According to Phil Jackson, there will be some players let go from the Lakers this offseason, and it’s pretty obvious to anyone who watched the series who those guys are going to be. Laker legend Jerry West(guy in the NBA logo) has concerns with the frontcourt possibilities of Andrew Bynum joining Pau Gasol and Lamar Odom, though he believes if those three are used at the same time around the post, that will be the best and most powerful frontcourt in all of pro-basketball….and in the words of NBATV’s Rick Kamla they will then be the “3-headed monster”.
A lot of NBA analysts made the point clear at the beginning of the Western Conference playoffs that teams need to attack the Lakers this postseason, because next season they will add what is thought to be the next Shaq to their already great team, making them the favorite by a 7-2 margin to win the title next year.

Keys to the Boston victory: a. Getting away with illegal screens as KG constantly shoved players out of the way. b. PJ Brown illegally holding Pau Gasol in the post. c. Constant hacks on any Laker that drove it into the paint. d. Great three point shooting. e. Paul Pierce shooting lights out

Keys to the Lakers loss: a. Pau Gasol and Lamar Odom having a case of amnesia in forgetting how to play physical ball. b. Kobe Bryant having an awful NBA Finals shooting performance with exception to game 3, largely due to triple and quadruple teams. c. Sasha Vujacic disappearing for the entire series with exception to game 3′s 20 point performance. d. Vladimir Rodmanovic jacking up rainbow 3-point shots that had no chance of making it in the hoop anyway, as well as vital mental mistakes down the stretch. e. Derek Fisher still hasn’t gotten over the 2004 NBA Finals loss according to him.

Kobe Bryant will have to put his wishes for a title on hold until he gets an unstoppable force in the middle that can draw the same kind of attention as he does. So unless Andrew Bynum becomes what they think he will, Lakers will not win another NBA title.

One picture really sums this whole thing up:

Professional sports has had a rough couple of years with the steroid accusations in baseball, and now the NBA has a brand new scandal that ties into the referree gambling ring. Ex-Ref Tim Donaghy is facing serious jail time for his admission of rigging NBA games, in which some of those games were vital playoff games. One game comes to mind and that would be Spurs vs. Suns Game 4 of the Western Conference Semi’s in 2007, where Amare Stoudemire and Boris “Dorkus-Malorkus” Diaw got suspended for leaving the bench to aid Steve Nash right after he was close-lined by Robert “Cheapsot Bob” Horry. There is much discussion that the suspensions of those players sealed the deal for San Antonio in order for them to go on and win the 2007 title.
The most recent scandal has been one surrounding Game 6 of the 2002 Western Conference Finals that had Lakers vs. Kings in a heated epic battle. The accusation from Tim Donaghy is that there were other refs that moderated that game and were payed off and told to protect certain stars and eject other players in order for the series to be extended to 7 games. The idea is that late in the 4th quarter of Game 6 in Sacramento’s Arco Arena, Shaquille O’Neal(then a Laker) consistently abused people in the paint, but yet instead of him being called for fouls for traumatizing people with his elbows to the face, the victims ended up fouling out. The two victims in this case were Vlade Divac and Scott Pollard. At the time no-one really considered listening to the Kings’ side of the story, because everyone was used to Mike Bibby crying about virtually everything, same went for Chris Webber.
If these allegations are true then David Stern as well as many other top officials of the NBA, will more than likely be headed for prison at the end of a long process.

My personal opinion on that is that 2002 Game 7 between those two teams was ultimately decided by Vlade tipping the basketball out to the top of the 3-point line to a wide-open Robert “Cheapsot Bob” Horry, who ended up hitting a game winning 3-point shot with the game clock ticking down.

Flash forward to present day, the 2008 NBA Finals. After 3 games this feels like a Kobe Bryant and Derek Fisher vs. all of the Celtics series. I loved watching the post-game interviews in which Phil Jackson makes the statement, “Lamar Odom was confused out there. That’s all.” I love how Phil Jackson makes Lamar Odom sound like an incompetent bafoon, or also like an innocent infant who means no harm but just sucks anyway. Laker fans in LA are now starting to make jerseys that have “GASOFT” written on the back in a mockery of Lakers’ starting center Paul Gasol’s seemingly soft play during this series. Man…that’s a brutal hometown fanbase, not only do you have to go get chewed out and taunted by the away crowd, but now you’re getting taunted and chewed out by your HOME crowd.
Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett in the first two games really played stellar, and added on a huge amount of effort to bring the Celtics to two wins…though game 2 almost became the biggest upset in Finals history when the Lakers cut a 24 point lead with 6 minutes left in the 4th, to 2 with 38 seconds left.
Game 3 went to the Lakers after Kobe Bryant virtually took on the entire Celtics team by himself scoring 36 points, then had Derek Fisher as well as(for the first time in the series) Sasha Vujacic add in some help. That leaves the series at Celtics up 2-1. I will stick to my previous prediction that LA will win this series in 7.

Not only is Infinity Ward not being offered to do Call of Duty 5…….but it is also going back to the freaking World War II setting. How many more of this kind of game can come out before history is destroyed in the minds of young kids about how it all REALLY happened? Call of Duty 4 is a groundbreaking game with new innovations in the tactical team-based FPS world of fast-paced killing. It’s a great game, but unfortunately will not see a continuation unless Infinity Ward gets asked again to do another CoD game. Although this game is coming out on Nintendo Wii, there’s no reason to get it. Just go play CoD1 and CoD2 and you’ll have the full experience of all that CoD5 has to offer.

Oh well, at least Metal Gear Solid 4 comes out June 12th, and The Conduit is shaping up to be a solid FPS multiplayer prospect.
Something tells me that the Conduit guy as seen below, would have a hard time taking on that monstrous beast from Doom.

Here we go, the NBA Finals. The biggest stage in all of sports, where camera’s flash so much that there’s bound to be thousands convulse because of the light flickering. Lakers vs. Celtics, Bill Russell vs. Wilt Chamberlain, Jerry West vs. Bob Cousy, Kobe Bryant vs. Paul Pierce.

In the history of the NBA Finals, these two teams have met for 10 NBA Finals appearances, in which the Celtics are up 8-2. This year is David Stern’s dream match-up, not only do you have the Lakers which are just as well recognized in the sports world as the Yankees, but you have the STAR of the Lakers being hailed as the next Michael Jordan. That right there kills two birds with one stone when you’re going for fan appeal. The Celtics have three potential future hall of famers, and after reading a lot of forums and websites it seems that all fans everywhere are concentrating on the Kevin Garnett match-up against Kobe Bryant. This NBA Finals is looking to have TV ratings soar up to anywhere between 14-16 as opposed to last year’s NBA Finals match-up between the Spurs and Cavaliers, which ended up rating at 6.3.

The sports world is waiting in anticipation of what will happen Thursday night, which is game 1. Most people know that if Kobe Bryant were to win this ring, it would be his 4th. What is important about that is it would be his 1st ring without Shaq. If he wins this, to him and a majority of the ESPN analysts, it would thereby send a clear message to the world that he was right all along about demanding a trade for a seeming void of talent within the team, but most importantly it would send the message that “I don’t need Shaq around to win.” For Phil Jackson, this title also means a lot. It means that he breaks the tie that he currently holds with Red Auerbach for total championships they have with each having 9 titles. During Jackson’s tenure with Michael Jordan’s Bulls, Red Auerbach made the comment that Phil Jackson was overrated and couldn’t coach to save his life. So in light of that, this next ring would be Phil’s way of not only validating his abilities as a head coach, but also in validating that he is better than Red was as a coach.

I believe that the recent Lakers’ 3-peat team was special, not as special as the ’93 Suns team, but still special, and had that Lakers team stayed down to earth and kept working hard they would have won 7 or 8 titles, making sure that San Antonio, Detroit and Miami would not have won theirs over the past 8 years.

On the Celtics side they say they are fighting for Red Auerbach. They say they’re trying to preserve Celtic tradition, and trying to make Larry Bird and Kevin McHale proud in the process. This is the first time Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett, and even Ray Allen have made it this far in the post season. Just a year ago, Paul Pierce and Danny Ainge(Celtics’ GM) were both caught under severe pressure and fire by the media after yet another miserable season after having one of the worst records in the league. Danny Ainge’s response to all the criticism was a huge punch in the face saying to the media, “Alright I’ll pull some magic and whip out the best trade for three future hall of famers, and that’ll shut you guys up.”

Bottom line is both teams have come a long way since a year ago. Though not a fan of either team really, I believe that the Lakers’ hijacking of the Memphis Grizzlies to get Gasol is going to be the reason the Lakers win the title this year. All Kobe has needed to be successful was two things. A point guard who knows the triangle offense, and more importantly HOW to run it, and can make smart decisions and big shots when needed. The other component he needed was a versatile big man who can not only pass in the post to cutters and the wing, but also one who is an offensive juggernaut….and can hit free throws. When Shaq was around, his scoring radius was within 5 feet of the basket, and if he couldn’t slam the crap out of the hoop and totally abuse and throw people around, the odds were that he would miss the shot. Nothing against Shaq, but I remember him responding to the question, “Are you worried about your free throw percentage?” by saying that he could hit them when he needed to. He must have not felt he needed to when the Suns faced the Spurs this year because that could have really helped.

Good luck to both teams, I am predicting the Lakers win this series in 7 games.

Check out this resemblence: The two humans are the current guards for the Celtics, check out the resemblance between them and the aliens.

Suns center Shaquille O’Neal on Thursday talked with a Chicago radio show.

“In my experience, it takes two or three years to get a group of guys together that could possibly get it done,” O’Neal said. “When I was in Orlando, we had a group of guys who couldn’t get it there, and we added the piece in Horace Grant and it took us over the top. I think I was the piece that they (the Suns) were missing. Next year, we’ll have a full season, and things look pretty good.

“I think I can do enough to still get us there to win. . . . I will go out with a bang. My name will be remembered.”

He called Amaré Stoudemire the NBA’s most underrated player, said the decision to fine floppers is too late and revealed why he dubbed himself “The Big Cactus.”

“If you show anybody a cactus, they know what it is worldwide,” O’Neal said. “There are 100 different types of cactus. Nobody knows its origin. You don’t have to give it water, but it’s known worldwide. And if you grab one, you will get hurt.” –MWAHAHAHAHA

I guess that’s what I love about Shaq, he’s got so much over-confidence in himself that it’s almost believable that not only is he unstoppable, but that he can also shoot above 50% at the free throw line. As the Suns look for a new head coach, I hope and pray that they factor in the respectability factor between players and coaching staff. Someone with this large of an ego to say, “Call me the big cactus”, needs to have someone who can handle the large personalities such as this on the team. All I have to say is that a year ago, I really could not have predicted ANY of this…

– Shaq in desperate need of gravy while playing River City Ransom

The Celtics defeated the Pistons 4 games to 2 to advance to meet the Lakers in the NBA Finals. This will be the first time that the Lakers and Celtics meet in the Finals in 20 years. It’s weird to think that the last time these two teams met was when Magic and Bird were the two superstars for their teams.

All I have to say about this is…..

The Los Angeles Lakers defeated the San Antonio Sterns*eerr*..Spurs 4 games to 1 in the NBA Western Conference Finals, and will advance to the NBA Finals to face the winner of the Detroit Pistons vs. Boston Celtics series.

As an avid Phoenix Suns fan, something just felt good about watching the last remaining minute of the game, and watching the face of defeat fall upon Tim Duncan and Manu Gibobili *whoops* Ginobili. I find it odd that the Spurs can’t seem to win back to back championships, and added to that weirdness, they can only win titles on odd years(1999*, 2003, 2005, 2007). The reason for the asterisk on 1999 is because that was the year the NBA had a strike/lockdown, and only half the year was actually played.

A lot of people said that this year the Suns had a terrible match-up in the first round against the Spurs, and that the western conference finals should have been Suns vs. Lakers, and I would tend to agree with that. While players like Manu Ginobili, Tony Parker, and Tim Duncan are sticking around, most of that team is not guaranteed to be sticking around, especially because most of them are well over the age of 30, and having this series speak as evidence, the Spurs can’t keep up anymore while carrying dead weight.

Upon the Spurs losing to the Lakers, I realized that Manu Ginobili has a striking resemblence to either Andy Garcia, or the guy who played the art gallery clerk “Serge” in Beverly Hills Cop: http://www.detroitbadboys.com/images/manuBalki_01.jpg

The character Batman is not dead, but Bruce Wayne will not be playing him any longer according to the recent author of the story “Batman RIP”.

It seems that since the “Death of Superman” saga, in which Superman dies in an epic battle with the character “Doomsday”, and is re-born through genetic fusion of several different entities he left off once once he died, that DC has been trying to have a “Death of Batman” saga to follow.

Though I imagine that no-one is guiltless in the destruction of the 2004 Lakers, which had 4 Hall of Famers in the starting line-up(Shaquille O’Neal, Kobe Bryant, Karl Malone, Gary Payton), I believe that some of them hold more blame than others.

For those of you who have been avidly watching the Playoffs, you’ll know what I’m talking about when I break this hilarious stuff down.

We’ve got two match-ups in the conference finals: Detroit vs. Boston, and San Antonio vs. Los Angeles.

The San Antonio vs. LA series has had major TV ratings since game 1, and has provided already some memorable plays from both sides. What’s funny is watching the Lakers push the crap out of the Spurs, forcing them to play at a more uptempo style for most of the series so far. This greatly upsets the Spurs, because the Spurs big 3 (Tim Duncan, Tony Parker, and Manu Ginobili) love to play at an excruciatingly slow tempo, passing the ball back and forth, sometimes not even to look for an open shot, but just to watch the ball travel through the air. There has certainly been a ton of whining and stunned faces coming from both Manu Ginobili and Tim Duncan, especially after their team lost the first two games in LA. To me, this has actually been somewhat an entertaining series to watch. I stand by my previous prediction that the Lakers will win this series in 6 or 7 games.

Now, for the other series. The Pistons and Celtics first game received great TV ratings. The only problem is, now that people have realized just how grinding and slow this series is going to be, they have changed the channel to watch the “landscape channel” over these games. If ever there was a cure for severe cases of insomnia, this series would be it. With the exception of Rasheed Wallace, who’s constantly flipping out and losing his emotional control, I have not seen much whining or complaining from this match-up. I still believe the Celtics will win this series to face the Lakers in the Finals.

Be prepared, this year’s NBA Finals may very well be a flashback to the 1980′s, and if that happens, I hope that stars like Eddie Murphy, Kurt Russell, and Sylvester Stallone can be shown on the jumbo tron and recognized for their ’80′s movie star-ness.

The weirdest turn of events have happened in the NBA this year. All I can say is, wow… Either David Stern(NBA Commissioner) had a master plan to have these 4 teams meeting for their respective conference finals or God has a sense of humor.

The two teams of legend, quite possibly the most historic franchises in all of sports, with exception to the yankees, are the Lakers and Celtics. The two teams of the past decade that have been constantly the most horrifically boring teams to ever play the game are the San Antonio Spurs and Detroit Pistons.

With that being said, this year, the Western Conference Finals has the Lakers playing the Spurs(this was the case in 2001, 2002, and 2004), and the Eastern Conference Finals has the Celtics playing the Pistons(This was the case for a majority of the late ’80′s during the Larry Bird/Isaiah Thomas rivalry).
I read something hilarious on the internet that said this year’s NBA Playoffs have seen TV ratings sky rocket to being the highest they’ve been since 2002. It went on to say people chose to watch PBA bowling over watching any of the NBA Finals appearances that had the Spurs involved.

If you’re an avid basketball fan, this year’s NBA Playoffs have been intense, although the Suns had the most nightmare-ish series to open the 1st round with. I am predicting the Lakers will take the Spurs out in 6 or 7 games, and ultimately go on to win the title against the Celtics. I will laugh so hard if after these two epic Conference final match-ups, the NBA Finals ends up being the most boring series ever, “Spurs vs. Pistons”. If that ends up happening, this year will be one of the first times ever where the Conference Finals were widely more watched than the actual title series.

In a recent post about the best cartoons of all time I felt the need to check out something I’ve never seen before….THE END OF DRAGON BALL GT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (There is DragonBall(original), DragonBall Z(2nd series), and DragonBall GT(3rd series).
All throughout High School I was a huge fan of Dragon Ball Z because of the action, the characters, the story, and the atmosphere of the whole show. It’s awful to think that just a few years ago the timeslots from 3-7PM were filled with great shows on CartoonNetwork(Toonami), and now they’re replaced with shows that make you feel like you just got slapped the crap out of with sunshine in the face by Spongebob or some other freakish absurd thing. For those of you who are avid fans of the Dragon Ball series, you will understand that Goku is not the ideal husband figure or father to his family. The reason I say that is because the dude is constantly taking off on them to go fight monstrous freaks that come from out of nowhere, and they somehow find planet Earth, and oh yeah by the way they want to destroy both Earth and Goku for some reason. The reason I bring up the father/husband role in the character of Goku is that in the very end of Dragon Ball GT, Goku is seen walking away from his family after this monolithically epic battle against the Dragon Ball universal equivalent of Satan(source of everything evil), and then the narrator starts to speak and says basically that Goku is leaving his family to go into solitude somewhere, and then when there’s a threat to Earth again he’ll come out of hiding with guns blazing, and he’ll fight it….WHAT!?!?!
Theoretically speaking, couldn’t he have accomplished the same thing by sticking with his loved ones? I may be crazy for having that thought come through, but if I had just gotten done fighting the source of all evil in the universe in this massive epic battle, I would want to spend some quality time with people I cared about. Ah, but nonetheless, the show is still awesome, even with a disappointing ending to the whole story of Goku. It’s so funny to listen to some of the lines in that show, like where Goku’s wife makes mention that it’s nice to not have to fight any creature, and then Goku’s response is, “Yeah it is, but even though I’m enjoying the peace and quiet, I really miss the fighting.” Just hearing that is hilarious to think about. What kind of lunatic would take that kind of pleasure in fighting?

Anyway, here’s a link of the kind of weird, yet cool stuff I’m talking about:
(Super Saiyan 4 was my favorite transformation in the show)

Upon coming out of 6 hours of straight Call of Duty 4 Team Deathmatch fun, I checked out ESPN only to find out that Mike D’Antoni is now the coach of the New York Knicks. An interestingly funny thing I have seen is that among most of the top NBA analysts, almost NONE of them have any idea why he would make this kind of move. He’s slotted now to make 6 mil a year for 4 years, which puts him as the 3rd highest paid coach behind 1. Phil Jackson and 2. Greg Poppovich(coach of the whiner Spurs).

Sometimes people think that the grass may be greener on the other side of a situation. I am a firm believer that sometimes I don’t want to even care what the grass may look like on the other side, as long as what I’ve got here and now works. (plus in the yard I grew up in you REALLY didn’t want to know what the grass looked like at times after the dog was done with it)

So now, the Phoenix Suns seem to be faced with a tough situation. Thunder Dan Majerle was mentioning how he would like to be an assistant coach for the Suns, and Eddie Johnson made mention that he’d like to shoot for the head coach spot. None of the more known names around the NBA’s coaching elite are even candidates, but thinking back to 2003 Mike D’Antoni was an assistant under Frank Johnson, and once Frank Johnson was asked to leave, D’Antoni slided right in.

My final thought is good luck to Mike D’Antoni and I wish him not only the best in New York, but also divine intervention in order to handle some of culturally diverse and interesting players they’ve got on that team…Especially the self-proclaimed Stephon “StarBury” Marbury (more like Starburst).

*Interesting note: Mike D’Antoni’s season(2003-2004) PRE-Steve Nash, the Suns record was: 29-53. The following year(2004-2005) with the newly acquired Steve Nash(no other roster change was made), the Suns record was: 62-20. That’s a huge difference in record, and to me that says more about the player than the coach.

Quick note from id Software – “Production has begun on DOOM 4™, the next journey into the legendary DOOM universe. We are expanding our internal team and are currently hiring to work on this highly anticipated title.”

It goes on to say….

“DOOM is part of the id Software DNA and demands the greatest talent and brightest minds in the industry to bring the next installment of our flagship franchise to Earth,” said Todd Hollenshead, CEO, id Software. “It’s critical for id Software to have the best creative minds in-house to develop games that meet the standards synonymous with our titles.”

Hold up, lets backtrack here, he really did say “Best Creative Minds to develop games that meet the standards synonymous with our titles.” As I read that, I began to wonder just what kind of “creative minds” that would entail.
Here’s a little profile of someone they may be looking for:

1.) Age: 40
2.) Level of Education: High School
3.) List previous work experience: Taping cats on doors and other horrific weird animal torment, demonologist liaison between hell and computer software
4.) Mental State: Fanatical psychotic bordering on mayhem/carnage
5.) Interests: Dreaming up ways a body could be exploded, dismembered, and destroyed with as much gore as possible coming out of every part. Also enjoys long sessions of howling at the moon on top of random rooftops. When Halloween rolls around, enjoys dressing up as the Quake guy and running and jumping around while shooting water guns at peoples’ feet and yelling “OWNED”.
6.) Religious preference: Anything dealing with chaos, destruction, evil goat crazy worship, and sports the colors red and black.
7.) List of references: Anyone who’s whole life revolves around the rocket launcher
8.) Future goals: To create an MMORPG to massively gory and evil that 12 year olds that play it will be traumatized merely from watching the intro.

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare is without a doubt the best FPS team-based multiplayer game out right now. Others would say, “Ohz you n00bz0r Counter-Strike: Source is da bestest cause it’z so REEAAALLL.”

For you gamers out there who are looking for an actually FUN game that’s not incredibly boring then I highly recommend heading over to CoD 4 – it’s got vehicles, all types of modern weaponry, and the team communication is unprecedented. In CS:S the biggest thing you have to worry about is, “Ok, am I going to get randomly killed by a headshot from a guy who’s firing his AK47 at will.

Besides that the age demographic of players in CoD 4 is higher, whereas Counter-Strike: Source players range from the ages of 12-18. Somehow you just get tired of getting yelled at and taunted by pre-mature kids. It’s so hilarious to hear a high-pitched voice go, “YOU HACK OMG I CAN’T BELIEVE IT YOU’RE SO OBVIOUSLY HACKING YOU MORON” and then you(with a much deeper voice) say, “What, son?” Then all is quiet, and then you have to start laughing uncontrollably.

Bottom line, go get CoD 4 and play it for hours upon hours.

What’s up with them?

There was once a time long ago in a galaxy far, far away that there were adventuresome cartoons that developed a phenomenal plot, as well as great characters you could really get into. It seems as though today’s cartoons are very *BAM* in your face with bright lights and colors like you just got socked in the face by Disco Barney. The following are some of the greatest cartoons ever to grace the airways:

1.) Ducktales – Scrooge McDuck and his nephew duck beings are some of the greatest entertainment Disney has ever offered. There were actual plots, you know, STORIES MADE SENSE and had real purpose for a cartoon show.

2.) Gargoyles – On the more serious side of Disney, Goliath and his freakish night flying friends were a mix of funny and goofy personalities all joined together to fight David Xanatos, the goatee wearing man with the robotic gargoyle suit he’d wear periodically when he decided to go for a spin and freak out kids on the streets

3.) TaleSpin – Baloo! Wow, I can’t even express in words how great this show was when it was on. It was fun, it had stories that took place in the WW2 era, and it told the story of a big sloth bear(Balooz0rz) helping out his friends Rebecca Cunningham and Kit Cloudkicker on their various journeys and travels. Again, this show had interesting plots with each episode, you had fun while watching it, it never got old or boring, and it was a show that had a wide range of audience appeal so that anyone could watch it

4.) Chip N’ Dale Rescue Rangers – What more needs to be said about this? Again, like TaleSpin, great family fun, it reached a large audience appeal because each episode was actually in-depth and didn’t make you feel like you were losing IQ points while watching it. Characters like Monterey Jack the mouse, and the actual chipmunks, plus Gadget Hackwrench(the heroine mouse) and Zipper(the green fly) were some of the funniest characters ever put in a cartoon show. Another element to this show that was cool was the fact that the character of Chip(The fedora wearing jacket chipmunk) was based on Indiana Jones, and the character of Dale(hawaiian shirt wearning chipmunk) was based on Magnum PI.

5.) Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles – Following alongside the adventures of the most famous crime fighting team ever made. The whole cast of characters including Splinter, the turtles, and Shredder all made for some of the greatest of all classic characters in our civilization.

6.) Darkwing Duck – This show was nominated for a freaking emmy as a spin-off of Ducktales, following the relative of Scrooge McDuck, Drake Mallard is the duck who the story is based on with his friend Launchpad McQuack.

7.) Dragon Ball Z – This show is by far and away rated all throughout the world as the greatest action anime show ever. This is one of the few shows where absolutely none of the heroes or villains could ever be replaced or emulated. The show follows the characters of Goku and Vegeta who, with their friends the Z Warriors, save the planet earth from enemies such as Freiza(still don’t know if its a girl or a guy), Cell(green egomaniac tall dude), Buu(pink freak thing), and countless other crazies. The thing about this show is that even though there’s a ton of fighting, it was still epic, and there was still a developing storyline that continually drove the characters forward. You also as a viewer start to become attached to the heroes because they are so dynamic and irreplaceable. You know you’ve done something right with a show when in some countries people actually worship the characters of Goku and Vegeta. The only negative element found in this show is that Goku is obviously not the best model of a husband, seeing as though he’s constantly either dying and going to the afterlife, and taking off for months or years at a time in order to train.

Each one of these shows brings so much to the table, that if all of these shows were back on regularly every day, there would really be no trouble actually finding something to watch for fun.
Its really actually sad the state that cartoon shows are in now. With all the constant crazy, in your face type action going on in these shows its really no wonder that kids have shorter attention spans nowadays, because they really don’t need to pay attention for long, seeing as the show will freak out on them every 5 seconds to get their attention refocused. Kids don’t even have to think about the moral of the story anymore because its freaking jammed right in their face.

At the end of the day, shows like Spongebob SquarePants, Naruto, etc.. can be taken off the air and never shown again to any child, and I fully believe that would solve a ton of issues we have with kids today.

Before reading this post I’d like you to watch the following link to get the jist of what I’m going to talk about: http://youtube.com/watch?v=IvNkGm8mxiM

After watching the video, I’d like you to consider the following things:

1.) Right off the bat, everything is cool and flowing nicely in the lives of these characters(similar to 2004-2006 Phoenix Suns roster pre-drama queendom)

2.) The next thing you notice in the video is that they start to hear reports of a “roaring” noise coming from somewhere, and no-one knows what or where it is, but it can’t be good. This is the beginning of what is soon to be known as, “horrific shizit” ([a.] similar to no-one having any idea that “Big Cactus” was going to be coming to the desert until the day of. [b.] also similar to no-one having any idea, until now, that Mike D’Antoni was doing his best “Days of our Lives” interpretation by creating this soap opera of wanting to leave the Suns for no other reason than more money.)

3.) The next thing you notice in the video is the blatantly obvious fact that the camera man must have been held back in grade school because he couldn’t pass Physical Education, seeing as how he can’t seem to stand up and actually run anywhere without falling and screaming. (similar to Leandro Barbosa’s uncontrollable ferocity of speed as he flies down the court only to horribly biff a lay-up attempt and go crashing into some poor unsuspecting camera man or ball boy)

4.) The last image seen in the video before it goes to credits is the head of the statue of liberty being hurled toward the middle of the city like it’s the Olympics.

The following link is the best series of events that I can use to sum up the things that are happening to the suns right now, and I believe it best displays the enormous spiral out of control that is facing the organization right now: http://youtube.com/watch?v=VBb0JHJRK8k&feature=related

There are several theories about Shaq’s behavior of the past 8 years. One theory is that, Shaq may be heading for a mid-life crisis and has the need to express himself in an outward display of agression. A second theory is that Shaq is secretly the missing link and evolutionary hybrid of Sasquatch(the YETTI) and one exceptionally large man, and because of his inner conflict, has a desperate need for self-identity, and therefore lashes out at others in an attempt to feel better about himself.

Whatever the case may be, watch the following videos and determine for yourself, the real reasons for Shaq’s most outrageous and disturbing behavior.

It has been apparent that the current popular genre is that of “emo” influence. I find it hilarious how quickly styles change, from the bleached blond tips of the hair that were popular when I was in high school(class of ’03), to the now popular thing which is where everyone looks like clones of The Beatles, but with the addition of guys wearing girl pants and clothes that are 2 sizes too small for them while carrying around iPods. One of my good friends and I were driving a few weeks ago and he pointed out that every single person he saw walking on the street had an iPod in their ear. He went on to ask, “Why don’t people take the time to just walk and enjoy the world around them, instead of drowning out everything with the iPod.” My response was, “Because most people purposely want to escape from this world, because they are deep down inside wanting something more from their life. Yet they complain about everything and in the process, depress the rest of us.”

I remember watching the MTV Music Awards 4 years ago in which Chris Rock hosted it. He introduced Cold Play, and after they were done playing “The Wizard” song, he asked the audience if they were ready to slit their wrists yet and call it a day. I have never laughed so hard at a TV moment before ever.

I believe firmly that music has a profound influence on life itself. If you create music that sounds like garbage, it will have a negative influence on the physical surroundings over a given period of time. There was a great study done to show that Mozart’s symphonies helped produce growth in plant life after an experiment was done in which scientists isolated a single plant in a room with nothing else but Mozart’s works. Over a long period of time the plant started to grow with amazing proportions.

With that being said, I also believe firmly to the highest degree that if one were to put a plant, with the same rules applied where there was nothing inside the room but music itself, that if scientists played the music of Snow Patrol, ColdPlay, James Blunt, the Fray, Joe Purdy and whatever other stuff that sounds like that, that plant would not only die, but it would also eradicate and disintegrate itself in an attempt to totally escape the torment of songs such as “Guess I’m Gonna Give Up” and “Chasing Cars”. My only hope is that people will start to catch on that music like this belongs in the hands of the CIA for usage of interrogation techniques.

First, to follow-up on the disclaimer, I’d like to add that was the emoticon face for “snore”.

If you are keeping up with the NBA Finals this year, you will have witnessed 3 very long games so far between the Spurs and Cavs, that have led to the general consensus in the sports world that this has been the lowest TV ratings in NBA Finals history.

I just found it funny that recently some NBA coaches who are not in the playoffs this year were on the pre-game show “Inside the NBA” and they were talking about possibly enlarging the size of the basket by half an inch so teams can score in the 100′s. Now if this were to happen, teams like the Suns and Mavericks would be scoring potentially double what they do now if not more, seemingly defeating the idea for more entertaining basketball. With all that said, I guess these theories and discussions are prone to arise after watching such an awe-inspiring series such as this.

Here is some supplemental entertainment for those who are having a hard time staying awake during this series.
